چکیده
Biodegradable collagen-based materials have been preferred as scaffolds and grafts for diverse clinical applications in density orthopedy. Besides the advantages of using such bio-originated materials, use collagen matrices increases risk infection transmission through cells or tissues graft/scaffold. In addition, solutions are not counted economically feasible approaches due to their high production cost. recent years, incorporation marine algae synthetic polymers has considered an alternative method preparation grafts/scaffolds since they represent abundant cheap source potential biopolymers. Current work aims propose a novel composite patch prepared by blending Sargassum vulgare powders (SVP) polylactide (PLA) porcine-derived membranes. SVP-PLA patches were produced modified solvent casting method. Following detailed material characterization assess cytocompatibility, human osteoblasts (HOBs) osteosarcoma (SaOS-2) seeded on neat PLA patches. MTT BrdU assays indicated greater cytocompatibility higher proliferation HOBs cultured than those PLA. SaOS-2 exhibited significant decrease cell proliferation. The described herein exhibits antiproliferative effect against without impairing HOBs’ adhesion

Niflumic acid disrupts marine spermatozoan chemotaxis without impairing the spatiotemporal detection of chemoattractant gradients.
In many broadcast-spawning marine organisms, oocytes release chemicals that guide conspecific spermatozoa towards them through chemotaxis. In the sea urchin Lytechinus pictus, the chemoattractant peptide speract triggers a train of fluctuations of intracellular Ca(2+) concentration in the sperm flagella. Each transient Ca(2+) elevation leads to a momentary increase in flagellar bending asymmetr...
متن کاملThe Effects of Marine Algae on Osteoporosis
Background: Osteoporosis is a prevalent bone disease caused by an imbalance between bone formation and resorption. Nutritional factors are involved in the prevention of osteoporosis. Several treatments exist for osteoporosis including bisphosphonates, parathyroid hormone, estrogen therapy, and hormone therapy, which have their own side effects. In the quest for an appropriate treatment for os...
متن کاملMiR-493 suppresses the proliferation and invasion of gastric cancer cells by targeting RhoC
Objective(s):MiRNAs have been proposed to be key regulators of tumorigenesis, progression and metastasis. However, their effect and prognostic value in gastric cancer is still poorly known. Materials and Methods: Gastric cancer cell lines were cultured. Tissue samples obtained from 36 gastric cancer patients were used for quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis. The tissue microarrays (T...
متن کاملThe marine algae of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran
The identification of marine algae in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province were performed from December 1998 to November 1999 at the coastal area of Gwatr (25 10´ N; 61 30´ E) and Mydani (25 24´ N; 59 5´ E). Data on vegetation were gathered in subtidal and intertidal zones by seasonal and monthly sampling, respectively. Samples were transferred to the laboratory and fixed...
